SHORWOOD, WI — A new fitness studio will soon open in Shorewood, on the corner of Oakland and Edgewood, wants to incorporate craft beer into its workout routines, according to documents filed with the village.
“Enjoying a local craft beer with your gym buddies after a good workout has helped create the best fitness community in the Milwaukee area,” Craft Fitness said in documents filed with the village.
The allure of craft beer appears at the end of every workout. The studio has filed documents for a Shorewood beer license so the front desk can sell craft beer to studio members after workouts – beers aren’t just a quick post-workout thirst quencher.
The inclusion of beer is part of a studio-led community development effort. Brew Fitness is focused on creating a more inclusive fitness community with social events, camaraderie and engagement, according to documents filed with the village.
The studio offers only local craft beers and regularly uses the profits from beer sales to support community events and charities, according to the documents. Craft Fitness has donated more than $ 25,000 to the community since its founding in 2017, the studio said in documents filed with the village.
As for the planned new location in Shorewood, a charitable recipient has already been planned: GiGi’s Playhouse. The studio will raise funds for the association through the GiGi FIT Acceptance Challenge events, according to documents filed with the village.
Craft Fitness will be open by the end of June at 3514 N. Oakland Avenue, according to documents.
