What grocery store is opening in Eatontown, NJ?

There is an empty storefront that has become shrouded in mystery and which many still wonder about.

The Asbury Park Press has reported that an “unnamed supermarket” is about to take over the old Toys R Us at Monmouth Plaza at the corner of Route 35 and Wyckoff Road.

I’ve researched this project all over the place and talked to all of my “friends in high places,” and everyone is keeping a very low profile on the channel moving into town. We are talking about months and months of questions.

APP even contacted officials at Monmouth Plaza. They said:

While this is very exciting and I look forward to the day when it can be leaked, at this point I am not free to say exactly who this tenant is, but we can tell you that the use is a grocer and that it is modernized accordingly. .

Here is what we know.

It’s a huge space. Whatever supermarket is considering moving in, it will have a lot of space to fill. We are talking about 35,000 square feet. The Burger King at Monmouth Plaza will be demolished, and a new healthcare business will likely move to the space next to the mysterious grocery store to replace the now vacant DSW.

It should be noted that the new supermarket will have a new facade, parking improvements, new signs, bicycle racks and charging stations for electric vehicles. Very avant-garde, right?

This is what we think of as the “mystery grocery store”.
