Residents of Leeds Township and the Thousand Islands (TLTI) are tired of COVID-19 ruining the fun of major achievement for its young people. To try to mitigate this, some are offering another fully online digital directory to recognize graduates and everything they’ve done.

“COVID-19 has had a huge impact on our students since late 2019,” said McKenna Modler, business support and marketing and red project coordinator for TLTI and Gananoque. “The students lost their prom, their trips, their socialization, their new friendships and finally, their diplomas and their mailings. The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands wants to celebrate our graduate and sent students with another TLTI online directory. “

All TLTI Zone students who are graduates of High School 6, 8, 12 and Post-Secondary are welcome to be part of the TLTI Online Directory for 2021. The idea is to give them a souvenir that will last as they move through the world. future.

“I graduated from college in 2020, but due to COVID-19 I couldn’t have my graduate photos or my diploma,” Modler said. “The degrees are huge for all of us and with the TLTI Directory we can help celebrate the achievements of our students, even during a global pandemic.

In order to participate in the project, students and / or their parents / guardians are invited to submit their names, the name of the school and class, their projects for 2020-2021, a quote from the yearbook or a fun fact about themselves, a graduation photo or other photograph of the student if available, and fun photos of students from their school years. The idea is to make it as much of a regular directory as possible and give them something to cherish.

“Help us make 2021 your year of graduation, not the year of COVID-19,” she said. “Let’s celebrate and congratulate our graduate students / shippers of 2021.”

To participate, visit leeds.formbuilder.ca/Surveys/TLTI2021-Yearbook. All students graduating from TLTI for this year are welcome.
