How to bring your interior decoration to life


Josiah Martin said, “The magic of fresh starts is truly the most powerful of all.” After the daily hustle and bustle, I return to find solace and embrace at home. It made me realize that no matter where you live, careful home design and decoration can turn your space into a sanctuary. It influences your mental and physical health in surprising ways every day.

Bring interior design to life

My resolution this year was to be to explore new hobbies, one of which was surprising ways to find out how home decorating could create a buzz in my life. I breathed life into my interior design in 2021 and it turned out to be awesome!

Rustic atmosphere

First of all: I had to get rid of my unrelieved furniture. Exit with the old one and come in with the not-so-new, which offered a rustic feel theme. The seats come with a built-in story which does not conform to the so called “perfect design”. The aged natural coloring, indentations and various other wear imperfections brought out a unique and formidable visual.

Let the sun shine


Fast forwarding, I had to let the sun shine! This time around, I invested in some light, colorful scissors that let natural light in and bring ambiance to my home. Then I moved the furniture away from the window. And, believe me when I say, my electricity use has miraculously gone down. When the lights go down early, you can experience the singing birds making the melody right outside your window.

It also increases my productivity in the morning because, for a fact, this can be confirmed by a study that once said, “Sun exposure is believed to increase the brain’s release of a hormone called serotonin. Serotonin is associated with improving mood and helping a person feel calm and focused. “

Wallpaper effect

Parents of toddlers must relate when I say my walls looked like horror movies. I raised a wall painter with the crayons that were supposed to help him learn colors, on paper though. Had to solve this problem, but on a budget and oh my gosh! You can’t imagine the texture, depth of space, pattern, color and a well-designed scheme that wallpapers have brought to my house.

Thanks to the advice of my interior designers, Sam and Jay Williams, of Jaywil Investments. You cry, the transformation was aesthetic. The best thing is that wallpaper is beneficial because it is durable and cost effective as it adds a protective layer to the wall which is cleanable and washable. It added a very subtle texture which showed my style and personality ranging from curiosity, exploration, intrigue, and interaction with the surroundings.

The power of color

I also reorganized our areas of self-hypnosis. Baby’s room has matching curtains, quilts, and wall stickers for their best cartoon character, Mickey Mouse. All in my favorite color: blue.

The power of color is inescapable. Blue evokes feelings of calm and serenity. It is often described as peaceful, tranquil, secure and orderly. Baby sleeps all night in his cozy little haven.

The guest bedroom was filled with a rich dark brown color for all the decor. It was intentional to give you a short period of comfort, while you are staying there. Just enough so that you don’t have to stay longer. Hey! Don’t judge me, I’m an introvert, we just don’t do well with longtime guests.

For my part, I believe that humans are not made to live in captivity. Thus, in my room, I created a green space of freedom, filled with effects of nature. I filled nature like floral bedding, small manageable flower pots near the bathroom section, and a warm plush rug with feel-good fabric to tame this jungle of mine.

A study by the World Health Organization found that green spaces reduce morbidity and mortality in city dwellers by providing psychological relaxation and stress relief, boosting social cohesion and supporting physical activity. Come into my office later as I vividly share with you how immense and romantic physical activity has been stimulated in this jungle.

Aromatherapy and acoustic vibrations

Finally, the most important point of all these relaxation tips is the little aromatherapy. The scent of lavender, my favorite, actually gives a gentle sleepy and calming effect. Completing it with scented candles is very essential to get in the mood for an activity in the jungle.
