Eagle Farm Tips from Nathan Exelby, Best Bets and Quaddie, TAB On The Punt

Ruuca is set to break through for his first victory of the campaign at Eagle Farm, said Nathan Exelby, Queensland racing expert.

Sky Racing and Brisbane Racing Club turf expert Nathan Exelby is watching Saturday’s match at Eagle Farm.

Track: Good 4. Rail: + 8m.

Better to go lightly R1 No.3 – $ 3.30

She watched the game winning her test at the Gold Coast where she parked behind and then let go sharply at the end. Seems a suitable first assignment.

Go Wandji / Shamaton (all top) R2 No.1 & R4 No.6 – $ 1.40 / $ 1.45

The all-up is paying $ 2.03 at the moment, which seems fair enough. On a potentially difficult map, these two stand out in their respective races.

It’s All Talk R5 No.4 – $ 5

From the hot stable, she was one of many to be smashed into the ground by Rhapsody Rose. Better suited here and has a potential advantage over both favorites.

Race 1: Better Golightly $ 4.40- $ 3.30, Mishani Supreme $ 31- $ 23

Race 4: Prairie Fire $ 21 to $ 10

Race 5: Rayjen $ 2.70 – $ 2.60, Sergeant Silva $ 8 – $ 7.50, Our Red Planet $ 19 – $ 15

Race 6: Ligulate $ 4.60 to $ 3.40

Race 8: Wonderful Riri $ 5.50 – $ 4.60, Centrefire $ 9 – $ 6.50

Race 8: Zaaki $ 2.30 – $ 2.40, Colette 5 – $ 4.80

It’s All Talk ($ 5) calls on the O’Dea / Hoysted team here, which continues to take everything in front of them. She was formidable, surprising the team by winning first and then escaping last time behind Rhapsody Rose. A much smoother tempo here, so she can get into a better rhythm. Based on the first run, she’s good enough to shake that up. Rayjen ($ 2.60) and Invinsible Tears ($ 5) picked up at Doomben and were edged out by Single Dizire, who walked ahead. Both will be in better shape here. Rayjen had strong market support and kept trying, indicating that travel will not be a problem. Invinsible Tears clearly had the best form of two years, but might need one more depending on the new race.

Selections: It’s all words, Rayjen, invincible tears

Most have hope. We ended up with Tokoriki Lad ($ 5.50) at the top. He narrowly missed the last time and sees no problem coming back to the 1500m three weeks apart. Should be at least a steady tempo for him to chase. Ligulate ($ 3.40) really grabbed the attention by charging at Doomben behind Colpo Di Tamburo. Bigger tracksuits, but have 59 kg in practical run. At Witz End ($ 5) failed to finish there. Now try a trip he hasn’t taken in a while. Beware of him as his grades from all other recent races are quite good. So You Win ($ 8.50) was competitive in better races during the winter. Matowi ($ 10) and Pepi La Few ($ 8) also have hope in the weights.

Selections: Tokoriki Lad, Matowi, Ligulate, At Witz End, So you win, Peppi Law Few

Safado ($ 6) won the final preparation of this course and looks set to shoot again after two comebacks. Ran steadily first in Port, then hit traffic when needed to be full steam ahead at Doomben. He should have finished a little closer and now comes to his good trip on the big track. You just need to find some fresh air to gain momentum. For My Annie ($ 3.90) is on a trip trial but is peaking after being too good at home last time around. I guess the trip will be fine as it can build up some nice momentum and be very difficult to catch. Nicci’s Spirit ($ 4.60) has put two together now after just prevailing at Ipswich. Must step up another cog here.

Selections: Safado, for my Annie, the spirit of Nicci

Ruuca ($ 6.50) has had a long list of excuses not to break into town, but there shouldn’t be any left here. He found the line well at Doomben and now enters weightless thanks to Leah Kilner’s protest. It is profiled beautifully for that. Mogul Evie ($ 6.50) found 1000m too crisp. It’s more in his wheelhouse and with three weeks to come I think you’ll see a much better horse this time around. Wonderful Riri ($ 4.60) managed to be competitive in the last stakes prep and has every chance to draw after a recent solid try. The 57.5 kg compared to the other two is a question. Acrobatic ($ 7), She Za Boss ($ 11) the other is hoping.

Selections: Ruuca, tycoon Evie, wonderful Riri

Alcyone (Flemington, Race 3, $ 2.40) missed the boat at Caulfield and couldn’t catch up. All the form around him is great and he can complete a solid week for Godolphin. Nudge (Rosehill, Race 8, $ 5.50) was an ugly watch last time around and I can forgive it. The first descent was a cracker and with wet ground to make it a 1400m test it will be steep late.
